Check out the AKC top ten breeds. Then tell me what your favorite breed is. Check out the AKC website for more information on pure breed dogs. But remember, AKC registration says nothing about the quality of the dog. Only getting to know the breeder will. Even though the backstory of a puppymill puppy is a sad one, you are not rescuing a dog when you buy it from a petstore. Petstore purchases only increase demand for dogs that are bred and raised and shipped like livestock not the potential family member you desire.
Help end euthanasia; neuter your dog.
